Commentary: God as Father the Creator and AI

When we address God as “Father’ we  are at the same time acknowledging Him as our Creator– and a loving one at that.  God as Creator has given man problems since the Garden of Eden.  Rebellion against God started with the desire to “be like God.”  Ever since then man’s fundamental problems have their source in wanted to be in total control.   You can see this all around.  The culture rejects God and attempts to create their own morals. Today’s world goes further by insisting one can change their  sex.

There is a more far reaching effort using advances in technology.: Elon Musk, during a February 2025 interview, expressed that AI could surpass human intelligence within a year or two, reaching a level smarter than all humans combined by 2029 or 2030. A 2022 survey of 352 AI experts revealed significant variability in predictions, with a median estimate suggesting a 50% chance of achieving human-level AI by 2061. Researchers at the University of Bern have developed a new model for the emergence of consciousness. The model suggests that one day artificial agents, i.e. systems which imitate human thought, could gain consciousness.

Though AI offers unparalleled opportunities for technological improvements in living in most all areas, it has a dark side. Musk has warned of the potential for human like robots to “take over.”  I suggest its real dark side is man wishing to escape death through AI.  Man also wishes to escape the need for either a man or woman to create another human.  Man seeks to use AI to replicate the creative powers and intellect of man. At same time there is this quest to create a robot that has real human consciousness.  Instead of man being given life by the “breath of God” with a living God created soul, though AI man creates man without God. Thus, he becomes God “himself.”  The quest in the Garden is fulfilled without “death” as the consequence.  We can “create” any companion, solve any problem, create any structure, etc. all without God.
